Hi, Does anybody  use advantage multi on their dogs as the only heartworm preventative? My friend just gave me a 6 pack of it and the vets I used to work for didn't recommend it because they said it didn't work as well as the others. Just wondering if anyone else has used it longterm and if its worked as a good heartworm preventative for your dogs.

nobody uses advantage multi? Should I take that as a sign not to use it? :-)

Hi Melissa, a lot of dog owners also have cats, so Advantage multi for dogs is out of the question. If you have other breed of herding dogs, there is a small chance of avermectin sensitivity. When it comes to poison, less is best, only increase if you need to.

Check out the chart below

Thanks Sam good to know! I thought it was only Advantix that was toxic to cats! Glad you said something as I have 2 cats as well as my corgi.
