i have pups due anyday and while i do not want to use you guys or this forum as a selling platform, i know some of you would really like a pup and some of you like pups whose tails are still there. the little guys will be AKC red/white and maybe a sable with close up champ lines and all deworming, dewclaws, shots etc would be done of course. please let me know soon as the vet docks the tails at 3 days. thank you.

I do believe that the list was not designed as a way to advertise and sell puppies. I would think that tail docking would be best discussed with potential purchasers then people on a national list. Surely interested parties would have been in touch privately.

i agree, thats why i was hesitant to even list this but i know alot of my fellow members have mentioned that they wish, they had been able to find a corgi w/o docked tail but couldnt as the tails are docked before anyone knows the pups exist. I will not be advertising my pups on here unless there is a specific place to do so as this board is "my personal" fun board. Honestly, I am not doing anything but giving someone the rare gift of knowledge of corgi's with a tail if they wish.

just delete my post please. I see that my true intention is seen by you as bad. I read blogs, posts and look at groups on here daily and there were discussions in a group of tailed corgi's that a lot of people wish they could have had a natural tailed corgi. I hid my post in other so someone culd find it if they used tags for undocked, natural etc.
D. Campbell for the record, I feel attacked as I have read tons of your posts and they always seem abrasive and negative. I hope it is just one case of miscommunication in the written word and your intentions are otherwise.

I believe there is a breeder in the Kentucky or Tennessee area that refuses to dock her Pems tails. As Debbie had mentioned..it is not that uncommon to see Pems with tails. Also..I know of a breeder in California that shows her dogs and one of her females has a tail and has done well in the show ring. The only problem I see w/not docking a tail for someone is the pups are really young when this needs to be done and to take a deposit one never knows what may happen down the road and not to take a deposit is really putting you in a position of vulnerability. Its a hard call.

Please don't feel bad, I totally understood where you are coming from. I didn't get the idea at all that you were pushing your pups, sometimes things don't get taken as the are meant from the originator.

Synnora, I agree with you regarding using MyCorgi as a selling platform. However, I do think it would be nice to have a forum for available puppies...with a few caveates. Posters must be actively participating members of MyCorgi (such as yourself or Wendtworth Corgis and others). Participating in forums and discussions. This affords an opportunity for members to aquire puppies from someone they have had the opportunity to form a relationship with. Perhaps a second requirement would be that posters disclose if they support Corgi Rescue (or pet rescue). Perhaps a protion of the puppy price must be designated towards rescue. Available puppies posts would not show as posts on the flag page, but those interested would have to actively go to the available puppies page. And finally a disclosure that the existance of the post on MyCorgi should not be considered an endorsement of the breeder. Just a thought. The primary purpose of MyCorgi is social, but we also use it for education and support for rescue. Just a thought. I don't think it is necessary to remove your post. You responded to what has often been discussed on this site. All the best. --Kristen

I think it might be a good idea to bring this to Sam's attention. I think it is a good idea. Especially if part of the proceeds go to a Corgi Rescue and certain stipulations are met. I would love to find a corgi from someone I already know and have a relationship with. You might want to send a message to Sam on this subject to see if he might be able to work something out...

Good point Kristen...there are many breeders here that don't participate in discussions and are solely here for one purpose and one purpose only and thats to market their litters and I don't agree w/that. You'll find them here more often when they have litters and hardly at all when they have none. To me..one who has a real love for the breed is one who will try to help out all the time. D.Campbell is always on here and though some of her response might seem crass and blunt..they are honest and yes..to the point. She is very knowledgeable and has a great love for the breed. She is very active among several groups or clubs pertaining to the Corgi and is on committees to some of those clubs. Honestly..if you want an answer to something she's got it.

I understood where you were coming from with your post and I don't feel that you are trying to use this site to "sell" your pups. I also have seen many posts on here for people who are interested in getting a corgi to add to their family and whole heartdly agree that it would be nice to have it available, with stipulations as Kristen mentioned that other members may be able to get their puppies from someone they have some sort of a reltionship with. If I had not already been in contact with a breeder in my area then I would have loved to be able to get a puppy from someone on here who obviously loves this breed as much as I do. Particularly since one of the other comments I see on here all the time is that your breeder should be the first person you can go to with questions about your puppy. I think it was a good idea on your part and I wish you luck in finding forever homes for all of your pups. Happy New Year.

I think it would be great to be able to get pups from someone we feel comfortable with. I know I would feel better. I've learned alot from breeders on this site. I also agree that there is a need for rules for this.

Synnora, I also appreciate your post. We are at our city-imposed three dog limit, but once we are in a position to add another furkid to out family I would really consider going to you, as Sid is a Pem with a tail and I would love to have another. I have not seen any tailed Pems at our local shelters during our four-year daily search, but rescue may have them, so of course I would check there first. But if rescue did not have any available I would contact you. Thank you!

Hi synnora...I understood what you were asking and it made sense to me. I had some puppies available and personally didn't think through (as you clearly did) how or if I should mention it on the site. Everyone who I talked to through the site regarding the puppies was very nice and non-accusitory (thank God - Corgi lovers are generally sensitively souled people). It made sense to me that you thought of putting out some feelers in case someone out there had been on an undocked pems quest! So try not to let it get to you!!
