Caution: Break away collars with metal clasps!

Because we live in the country my dogs wear their collars 24/7. Bella has had this collar on for at least 6 months. Little did I know when I bought the metal one and thought it would be stronger yet a break away that she would become allergic to it or that the metal would wear off and this would happen! Just wanted people to be aware of what could happen.

Thank you for the warning! We avoid certain collars because of different reasons. Now we have another one :)

Poor puppy! I wanted a breakaway collar with metal finish for Waffle, but they only had it in plastic due to a recall of their metal products. :[ I guess dogs can be allergic to nickel too!

I took Bella to the vet this am since I was going there anyways. She is now on antibiotics for this. The vet said that her immune system might be a little weak due to just having pups. I sure wish I would have known/thought about what the metal clasps could do!
