Anxiety and fears.

It's been awhile since i posted news about Tilda.

She's now 15 months old. She seems to have gone through a bout of teenage madness where she chewed the railing of our hallway, talked back alot, disobeyed, etc. She's still not as obedient as before, but we have been preventing the destructive chewing with crating when unsupervised or having her leashed to me when i'm in the house. Leashing her to me seems to have been helping her learn that she needs to settle down next to us once in awhile, an… Continue

No more unsupervised freedom.

Well my worst fears have been confirmed today, Tilda is going through her worse phase ever. It started after her spay, wich was done when she turned 1 year old. She has become more hyper, disobedient, talking back, so i suppose she is a late bloomer and her teenager phase is upon us. She is currently 14 months old.

She just completely destroyed the railing of the wall while i was talking with my mom on skype, in probably a span of 5 minutes. I heard some odd sounds, walked towards the hallway a… Continue

Back in the crate

Well, Tilda destroyed her leash tonight and i'm lucky it was just the leash. So she has to go back to the crate at nighttime, because this house is rented and i can't have her destroying it.

We aren't putting a blanket over her crate though, since that's the only difference between daytime and nighttime. We think the blanket might be the reason why she freaks out during the night and pees in there, since she's perfectly fine during the day, for the same amount of hours as in the night.

If that… Continue

Good news so far.

Good news everyone, it's been day two of the sleeping arrangements and both me and Tilda have slept soundly(husband always sleeps well because he is a heavy sleeper :P).

At first i left her in the hallway, placed a baby gate in my bedroom door and went to sleep. So if she wanted to check us out, she could. She came to check us out when we headed off to bed but never came again. She just curled up on her favorite spot of the hallway. She does have a tendency to pace around, so after a few hours(… Continue

Back from the vet.

Well, just wanted to update this since we came back from the vet.

The urine sample showed alot of bacteria, but at the same time there was no white cells so the vet fears that it might be a contaminated sample. I did get it directly from her urine stream with a margarine lid(that i sterilized) so she isn't sure. She still gave her some antibiotics just in case, but the fact that she has no urgency to pee during the day is very odd.

The vet thinks that this is because Tilda is such a anxious do… Continue

Your Matilda is adorable. Thanks for the help on the grain free diet. They are getting better, I have been going much more slowly than I originally started out. Gracie is much better, and Gunner has improved some. But he had the more loose stools to begin with than Gracie.

What a lovely dog. I like to see Pems with tails. Take lots of photos; she'll change as the red comes in on her head, shoulders and legs.
I need to be heavily sedated before I can safely view corgi puppy pictures.

Regarding the blog comment:
Our first Corgi, Bailey died from PARVO related complications as well as a GIARDIA infection. She began showing signs of her illness within 2 DAYS of bringing her home, and despite the efforts of 3 different VETS, and around the clock care....she was gone within 9 days of having her. We were sold a SICK puppy. And to this day, cannot reach the breeder we purchased her from. Be VERY careful whom you obtain your pets from!!!!!!
Thank you for your kind words!
