About Me:
I am on my 2nd Pembroke Corgi, Chloe. Rusty ,my first Corgi was put down 4/6/06, he was 12 and had DM. I am sorry I missed the Dixon faire, but hope to go this year. Married , living with two college age kids, and two cats. I am constantly looking for a non destructable dog beds and toys.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
I purchased my Corgis from breeders on PWCA. My husband and I went to the breeders homes, kennel, toured the kennel, saw both parents and the pedigree. My family and I were interviewed as well by the breeders. what food, who would be taking care of the dog, do you have a crate, a lot of questions. Our latest corgi, Chloe was one from eight puppies. At first we picked her brother Kirby. Kirby was the runt and from the beginning something seemed odd, he wasn't that friendly when he got home. I honestly did not remember my previous experience corgi's Rusty's puppyhood. The breeder's vets, general and opthmologist and my intital vet all missed the fact that he had hydracepalous(water on the brain) . One day when he was about 13 weeks he just got lethargic. The breeder met us at the emergency vet and decided the best thing was to let Kirby go. I was so grateful that she made that decision removing the guilt of putting him down from me. Our breeder had the policy no matter what age if we cannot keep the dog it goes back to her. We called her because we were quoted 4 grand for a weekend, and we heartbreakingly could not afford that. The breeder felt just awful, and in 30 years experience as a breeder and judge she had never encountered that. Our breeder took care of the medical care and next day brought Chloe to us. She told us she had thought of breeding Chloe because she was show quality. Chloe has been such a wonderful puppy,

my girl Chloe is spayed and smart. We have completed taking obediance classes. We walk everyday. Her hobby is shreading paper. Chloe will help with yard work and tries to catch flies.

Dental Vaccine

I just came across this.Dog Dental Care - The Porphyromonas Vaccine

I do not even recall having this discussion with my vet about this. Has your Corgi been vaccinated?

Do you have shot and license records on you at all times?

When my sons were small I carried their immunization cards in my purse. I figured you never knew if you might need them in case of emergency.

As a Corgi parent if you go on a routine outing, say dogparks do you bring your dog's license and shot records with you? I think if going on vacation it is absolute must.

Happy Act pet tax credit

The HAPPY Act (HR 3501) in Process – Pet Tax Credit Introduced by Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R – Mich)

I just became aware of this. I wonder how this is going to work? This might allow for some pet parents get even more medical treatment for their pets.

I fully agree pets do add a lot of value to our lives.

Chloe is jealous of Ruby my cat.

My cat Ruby is 10 years old, and was recently diagnosed with a rapid heart rate. Chloe loves to bother and annoy Ruby. At bedtime Chloe is in her crate, Ruby wvalks around and wants some Mama time. Ruby meows, Chloe barks. I am concerned that Ruby will get so worked up that she'll have a heart attack.

I am correcting Chloe with "no touch" when she tries to mouth Ruby. . My husband thinks I should put Chloe in her crate as a timeout when behaves this way.

Got any ideas?

Anyone with Pear trees have digestive issues?

We have a pear tree in the backyard. Chloe ate some pears that fell off the tree, and now she has a poopy butt. I think it is pears since everything else is fairly routine, but she hasn't had her cookies and goodies today.

My other Corgi used to run into the apricot tree to knock that fruit off.

Hello, great pictures of Chloe, i'm currently doing some research on getting a Corgi hopefully soon. I've hopped on various websites checking forums, saying to check out rescue shelters and adoptions centers. Any advice to where i can get a Corgi in the Bay Area? Please get back to me on your free time

Sadie and I went to Morse park today (Sunday) around noon but we didn't stay long since no one else was there and it was too hot!! Maybe we can schedule something to meet up, although next week I will be out of town so either this week or a few weeks from now. I am trying to get her socialized and she played with a few dogs in her puppy class; but sadly sometimes she doesn't want to play or will snip at other dogs, so I need to work on that. Hopefully our little ones will be able to meet up!
