How exciting! Sidney says "Sorry man...no sweat on the surgery though, you'll be running around before you are really allowed to" :)

Oh yeah, we did this once when my kids were 2 & 1. Great idea!

That was cool! I tried to see if I recognized Riverside, but I've been away too long! Hmm, what street was that In-N-Out on, anyway?

We usually wait unitl the second weekend in December. OUr house is so small, finding room for a tree is a big task! When we had a real tree (before Sidney) we would put a child gate around it . It was the type made up of connected panels that coul...

About My Corgi(s):
Sidney is our first purebred corgi and we are thrilled to have him. He was born 7/11/07. We plan to start him in agility training soon. He is really my teenage daughter's dog. She loves Sid so much and we are happy that he has definitely bonded to her. She is the one training him and will be his agility coach too. They have made a great team so far. He's one smart little character! Oh, and he's undocked, so his beautiful tail attracts a lot of attention - good attention.

baby

Bruce is our corgi/elkhound (?) mix. We rescued him from the brink of euthanasia when he was approximately 10-11 years old (he had a day or two left to go). He's about 13-14 now and his only sign of his advanced age are bad teeth and slow mornings. I adore Brucie and he worships me. He's my funny short angel with a puffball tail (thanks to the elkhound side).

Chester is our "tall dog". He's a black dane/lab mix that we got from a "free to good home" ad in the local newspaper. He's also old, about 13 years old. We know his age because we've had him 12 years, and he was an adult when we brought him home! He's a very serious dog and not very affectionate compared to the corgis, but he has been a very good dog, just aloof. We can't take Chester as many places as the shorties because he does not travel well. The only sign of his old age is the white fur that is progressively taking over the black; he's spry and has perfect chompers.

Obedience School Halloween Party

Tonight was the Halloween party at Sidney's obedience school. He went dressed as a lobster! I wish I had thought to look for a fisherman's jacket of chef's hat, hee hee.

There was a trick contest..one for beginning and one for advanced. I was not sure where to enter him and opted for the advanced level. He took second place! I was so proud of the good job he did :)
He did "say hello", "high five" "spin" "down" "bang you're dead" and the "balance the treat on the nose and hold it tell I tell you… Continue

Baxter the Therapy Dog dies at age 19

Let me start by saying Baxter was NOT my dog, but a dog that touched my heart.

I brought this photo and article over from www.momentswithbaxter.com.

Baxter was a wonderful therapy dog. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a Humane Society fundraiser last spring. You could just feel the love and peace coming from him...it was amazing. Baxter was my inspiration to get Sidney into the therapy dog program. He will surely be missed beyond words. RIP Baxter.

A Hike at Lake Hodges...and a snake!

Today was a beautiful autumn day here in San Diego...meaning it was NOT sweltering hot, and a nice breeze was blowing, so we tried a new hiking trail today. It is called "Piedras Pintadas", which means "painted rocks" and winds through former Kumeyaay Indian grounds. There was a creek, a waterfall, informative sign boards and a nice view of the lake.

We took SIdney and Bruce, who is 14. I was a little worried about bringing Bruce due to his advanced age, but he plugged along like a champ.

It w… Continue

Thanks for watching Re-Bourne...Hey, that's a good looking corgi you have...and I'm an English teacher. The corgis weren't hungry the first day and we had to reshoot...They're only it for the treats.

Thank you for the welcome! I'll bet its beautiful and dry in southern CA. =)
It does get tricky with Rosie in the rainy season, I think I'll buy her a raincoat. I'm getting tired of holding an umbrella for her. ;)

hi Geri & Sidney
thank you for the message!
I'm sure she's all Corgi, but I'm not sure of Mimmo's heritage - as she was adoopted from the animal rescue people. Scampy / Foofit was more of a cross - with his floppy ears, and he had a gorgeous tail...

Thank you for the welcome Geri & Sidney!
Roxy is my first Corgi, I have had dachshunds for many years.
Roxy truly brings alot of joy and an abundance of energy to our home.
I have so much I want to learn about this breed, but have not found to many people where we live that own them, so when I found this site I was ecstatic!
