We met in college (TAMU) where we were Physics lab partners our second semester. We did not start dating until the last semester before we graduated. A great love story ^_^. I have been wanting a corgi since I was quite young, and when I married my husband I found out he too liked corgis and that we both preferred Red and Whites ^_^ so after nearly a year of searching (and a few mistakes) we brought home our perfect pup (on Nov 29, 2008), whom we named The Baroness Von Pooka! She loves our cat much more than he likes her, has learned to like her crate, and can:

Pooka is very small too (20lbs) and just turned a year. Her legs seem long, but I think that's just cuz she's so thin and lanky and that's probably the illusion you're getting with Max We'll see how they grow! I'm actually thankful to have a smal...

when pooka got spayed (neuter may be different) she just wanted to sleep/cuddle, but was in too much pain. As soon as I gave her the pain pill she was out. Car rides ALSO put her to sleep. So hopefully he'll just sleep the whole way =)

It's Pooka's First Birthday too!

I can't believe it, a corgi here in San Antonio, Ein has his first birthday today, and so does Gemima up in Rochester. I looked, they're not from Pooka's litter. My mom's dauchshund's birthday is also Oct 4th. There must be a conspiracy amongst dog breeders to either simply REPORT the birthday as the 4th, or to breed them all on the exact same day!

Guilty Pleasure Purchases

My husband let me spend some money recently on fun items, and when I ended up looking at my choices, 5 out of the 6 things were corgi related ;P So I wanted to share some of the cute things I found in case anyone else is interested!

Pooka gets Spayed

This is a bit late (she got her stitches out 4 days ago), but I wanted to share Pooka's story of getting spayed. Just wanted to give a real good detailed account for those about to go through the same thing cuz I still felt I didn't know what to expect.

I had bought Pooka one of those inflatable collars off ebay. Her neck was 13" around. The medium said 10"-13" and the large was 13"-whatever inches and you should always go with the bigger one, and we also figured we could use it as she grew up.… Continue

It's funny, I love Pems with that foxy little face like Pooka - she's cute as buttons! I also crack up about paiting her nails - we used to do that for my big Shepherd all the time when we were in training classes. Different color every week. She'd put her paw on my knee to let me paint them. Every week we'd run into class, and she'd book straight to the instructor, and lift up her paws so she could ooh, ah, and admire what color she had on that time. *laughs* She was just an odd one, she was. ;)
