About My Corgi(s):
Optimus is our spunky little bundle of joy. We love him to death, especially when he makes his random noises. I swear he sounds like Gizmo from the Gremlins sometimes. Oppy's favorite things to do are destroy his hedgies (we're already on his 3rd), carry around his giant frisbee, and steal mommy's socks out of the laundry room.
I have:

Hates water, that's crazy talk! Talula just recently jumped in the Delaware River and quickly swam back to shore when she realized how deep the water was. It was pretty amazing, I guess she can swim! She has those bursts of energy too-- I think it's a corgi thing FRAP (frequent random acts of play) We totally egg her on when she gets in those fits. She's pretty good at dog parks, but we've been taking her to them regularly since she was a baby. She has those annoying sniffy walks sometimes and likes to eat the dirt when she gets tired at the dog park. Strange animals!

How's Oppy? He looks huge! Can't wait til it cools down a little so we can do more outdoor daytime activities. She gets a little stir crazy inside all day, but hates the heat.

We love her tail so much. It was part of the reason we traveled so far for her. Plus we got to have an exciting car ride home! People stop me on the street and want to argue with me that Faye must be a cardigan... haha

hey! you've got a tail too! did you get from EZBrook as well? Oppy has the same little dark spot on his tail that my Faye has. We call it her 'cut here' line.

Both of Talula's ears are up now! We've been giving her Glucosamine tablets. Is Optimus losing any teeth yet? Talula lost a couple that I found last week. We would still love to meet up. This weekend we're going to trek to MD for the Corgi Fun Fair (as long as it's not raining) and June 6 is the Corgi Picnic in Chester County. The yahoo group has all the info for that.

Optimus is so cute! I see the bulldog in the pictures he is big.I love all the little puppy picture when their ears are still down. I noticed Your puppy has a tail I didnt think the pembrokes kept the tails on I know the cardigans do. I think if my Dyllan had a tail it would be black like his dad cause his little stub is black but the rest of him is white and red...I love them all!!! Jane

Oh, the only downside we've seen so far is that Oppy has a bit of a sensitive stomach. I'm not sure if that's due to the breeding or just a specific case, but we don't mind. As long as he doesn't eat anything he's not supposed to (or too much too ...

Both Talula and our Oppy were the litter from Jackson and Bella.

We got Oppy from EZ Brook as well (Talula's brother). He's been absolutely great. First and foremost he came pretty much crate trained. He very rarely had any messes in his crate. Having a full tail has been very nice as well. Nothing like staring...

The "sub prime portion!" Bev, that cracked me up. My dogs don't come on the bed, but my cat sleeps between the two of us and always shifts position so she's curled up perfectly against me when I roll over. But when she was a kitten, she used to s...

Izzy always lays with her head on my husbands\'s pillow which gives me the sub prime portion. Needless to say I wash her fuzzy booty regularly! Sparty like to lay between us with his head on my arm or leg. Makes moving the covers around a little d...

My Dillon used to do that. He slept right up next to me with his head on my shoulder for 6 years until he felt comfortable with me (he came from the Humane Society after having a very traumatic first 3 months of life). After that, one night he mig...

Well like I said, he does it when Hilliary wakes up for work, but he didn't always do it. It's only started happening the last 2-3 weeks and he's been sleeping in bed for about 2-3 months now.

I swear Wynn knows I'm waking up before I do(I must roll over or do something to clue him)...He jumps up and body slams me and talks!!! I love it! I wonder if you're giving Oppy a signal too???

Fuzzy Pillow

About 2 months ago we started letting Oppy sleep in bed with us. I was pretty against it at first because I'm a finicky sleeper and tend to roll around a lot. It was tough enough getting used to sleeping with another person, now add a dog that will just stare at you if you ask it to roll over. Despite my skepticism, he's done very well. He finds the spot between mine and Hilliary's feet and curls up down there not bothering either of us. Just 2 weeks or so ago he started doing something a little… Continue

First Day Home Alone

Oppy's just over 10 months now and we've been starting to trust him more and more being alone while we're gone. If we just had to run to the store, we've been testing leaving him out of his crate, and he's been very good. Over the weekend we went up to Hilliary's parents' cabin, and while there we went to the Bloomsburg fair. We decided to try to leave him out there while we were gone. We were gone about 9 hours and we came back to no accidents or anything destroyed! The only thing is that he mi… Continue

How To Ditch the Crate

Oppy is going to be 9 months old on Saturday and I was thinking it may be time to start working on not using his crate while we're at work (he'd be alone for approximately 6.5-7 hours). We've tested leaving him alone while we go to the grocery store which usually lasts about an hour or so and he's been doing really well as long as we puppy proof everything (make sure there's nothing on our desks that he can reach/steal/shred). But 6.5 hours is a lot longer than what we've currently tested him at… Continue

Destroying Plush Toys

Oppy absolutely loves his soft toys, but he also loves to destroy them. We just bought him a toy duck from Petco and he's already ripped the foot off and the beak open. His longest lasting toy was actually a stuffed penguin from a local carnival that wasn't even a dog toy. But alas, he killed that too. Does anyone have any suggestions for some really tough plush toys that he won't be able to tear apart within the first couple of days?

Uninformed PetSmart Worker

Oppy has a habit of destroying even some of the toughest toys, so we decided to take him to PetSmart to pick out a new frisbee and a bone. While we were in the store, one employee came up to him and started petting him and letting Oppy give him kisses. He asked if Oppy was a Cardigan or maybe a mix. We just looked at him with weird faces, because our little man is obviously a Pembroke. The reason he thought this was because Oppy's tail isn't docked, so he's got the full thing to wag. Other than… Continue
