My experience is that it is easier to train a 2nd pup as they have someone to follow and learn from! They can pick up any other habits also so if a dog barks etc. they may learn that! I think a year to 18 months apart is a good time for a new pup ...

Oh my, how time goes by!

Penny turned one today! It seems like just yesterday we picked her up. I am going to try my hand at making her a birthday cake - if that fails, it's off to Sprinkles for a doggie cupcake (and maybe one for mommy as well).

Any good easy cake recipies? I found one with carrots and peanut butter that looked pretty gross - meaning Penn should love it!

The Big Move

Well, the hubby and I have been packing up the beach shack in preparation for the big move to big D next week, and Penny is a bit of a loon. She was frightened of the flattened cardboard boxes at first and would not walk across them. Not wanting her to have any strange fears, we helped her over with treats and cuddles. Baxter and I will go down to White Rock Lake to the small dog play yard. If I see that there are some larger dogs that shouldn't be in that area we'll skip it as Baxter gets nervous around larger breeds. Think I'm going to check out "Unleased Dog Park" off of I-30 this weekend. I've heard really good things about it. As a matter of fact, I'm an Assistant Organizer for The DFW Corgi Meetup Group" (you should join!) for the Dallas area and I'm considering setting up a play date at Unleashed on November 6th -- that's "Corgi Night" at Unleashed. They'll assigned certain breeds certain nights of the week as their "official" night and do games, take pictures, etc. You should go to "Meetup.com" and search for our group and join!
