About Me:
My name is Dianne (Di) and I'm a retired travel agent.

Love, love, love corgis! See pics of my babies!

Also I am a soapmaker, candlemaker and like to make primitive dolls and do punchneedle embroidery. I'm originally from Ohio and have lived in several states plus Australia with my Aussie hubby.
About My Corgi(s):
I have a new puppy (born May 20, 2008) named Bronwyn, who we call Bronny. She's a red-headed tri Pem. Or will be when she loses her black puppy hair. She was born in Oklahoma and we got her at almost 9 weeks of age. She's such a sweetie and a bundle of energy. We love her to pieces.

My first corgi was Angharad. She was nicknamed Annie and she was a red-headed Tri Pem too. Sadly, she passed away in 1992. My second corgi was Andrew. He was nicknamed Drewie-dog. He was a Sable pem. He died of old age too, just two months shy of his 15th birthday. In Australia we fostered a Blue Merle Cardigan. Her name was Lara and she was a lovely little dog too, but we had to move back to the US and she had to live with her 'real' mamma. She was best in show in South Australia. We still miss her.

But all corgis are winners! I'd have a 6-pack of them if I could!

Bronny is 13 weeks old and beautiful!

My baby is 13 weeks old today! Well, it's already 12:23 a.m. so I guess that means she was 13 weeks old yesterday, but anyhoot.... She weighs 11 lbs and is 21 inches long as she's lying down, from nose to stub. Her head is losing the dark black and is slowly coming in red. Her feet are nice and chunky and fat and so are her little arms which are just about my favorite part of her right now. They are just little fat baby arms and are so cute! The hair on her back has recently gotten a tiny wave.… Continue

Growing up fast!

My baby turned 12 weeks yesterday. Already I can see the big girl she is going to be. Her head is lightening up from black to a reddish cast in the sun. She's growing longer and sturdier. Her head hair is still very puppy soft but her back coat is starting to coarsen just a wee bit. Her posture and conformation is beautiful. She's also so much calmer than the little girl I had 10 days ago that it's hard to believe she's the same puppy. She is running about the house and being such a good girl t… Continue

Look Mom - no chewing!

Boy, I'd forgotten how fast things change with little puppies. Several days ago I was distressed and at my wit's end that Bronny was biting, barking and 'telling me off' on a regular basis. Thank heavens my breeder (that is, Bronny's breeder) made suggestions that turned her around in 24 hours. Amazing! She's been very calm and has decided that chewing Mom, Grandma, Dad and Shadow isn't that much fun after all. Being able to cuddle her and hold her close without losing an ear, a breast or a fing… Continue

Such a good girl!

I wish I had my latest pics developed so that I could load them into this computer. I need a digital camera sooooo bad! She's just so darned cute! Bronny is doing so very well. She's grown an inch since we got her (in length that is) almost two weeks ago; she's learned her name, she knows where her front door is, she only makes a potty mistake on average once a day and knows some words like "outside", "in the house" (that's when we are done going potty and it's time to head home), "Bo Bo" (her… Continue

It's official - my Corgi's crazy!

Sliding across the grass At 9 weeks our Bronny is already exhibiting how clever and crazy she is. She wears a harness and she's found that if she flips over on her back she can be pulled along by her lead over the grass. She really loves it and it's hard to keep her on her feet. I'm sure my neighbors must think "what the....?' when they see me 'walking' my puppy! LOL Picking tomatoes She's also very good at picking tomatos right off the vine. Problem is, she prefers to pick the… Continue

Hi Di !
Oh, you've lived in a lot of places....me, only Paris-surburb of Paris-Paris again- and Sendai !

Gas is soooo expensive these days....but in the US, I understand you cannot live without a car ! In my family in Iowa, even the daughter, 16 years old at this time, drove...

Here, these days, it's not hot any more for the time being, only rainy, rainy.....everyday it rains.....Nana and Uyanga cannot play outside, poor girls.

When I look at your icon, your little one really remains me of my Nana when she was a pup, sooo cute !!!

Well, have a good day, sunny and not too hot I hope !

From Florence, Nana, and Uyanga, in Japan.

Hi!
Thank you for the comment, that was so sweet. Our corgi's name is Sidney (not Lola, but he says that's OK, you can call him whatever you want!). We didn't know before we drove over to see him that he had a tail, in fact we just thought corgis were born without tails! It's been an interesting learning experience.
Here's a link to the discussion we had a few months ago:
http://www.mycorgi.com/forum/topic/show?id=1150197%3ATopic%3A36795
It got quite heated. It seems most of us are in favor of leaving those adorable tails alone but there are a few who strongly support it in the name of breed standard. Many countries are now banning tail docking, so I'm interested to see where this is going.

Sidney is happily wagging his tail right now, just for Bronny. :-)

No Di, not personal at all !
Sendai where I live is quite a big town, the biggest in north-Honshu.
350km north from Tokyo.
In winter, we have some snow, but not a lot usualy.

Tennessee - Missouri, 10 hours drive ???!!! And....will you go there by car ???!!!
That's a very long trip ! I hope you'll not be the only one to drive....(me, I cannot drive a car, only a bicycle !)

Today is very hot here in Sendai, I couldn't take Nana and Uyanga for their walk....may be tonight. Here too, when it's hot, it's always very humid, poor Corgis.....they just sleep on the floor.....

See you when you wake up, Di ! ;0))
(13:45 for me now)

Thanks for the greet! Yeah hopefully I can pick up a few tips here and there from this site. I'm excited to see other people's Corgi's. The other corgi in my pics is Lexxi.

BONJOUR Di !
Yes, this forum is different, but PARFAIT (!) for me, better than the others: I tried before to participate in an American Corgi forum, but couldn't follow....too many things I don't understand. But here, may be I can survive.... lol

Di, for the chat, when it's morning for me, it should be night for you, Tennessee........mmmmm......sorry, I'm going to search on the map because I know the name, but not where it is ! (the only place I've been in your country is Iowa, and a visit to Missouri too !)

Hi Susan,

Yes, having a ball and getting totally worn out into the bargain, LOL. She's such a little cracker jack! I have so many pictures I need to get put up, but thank you for your compliments on the ones here. They are out of date now, as Bronny is 12 weeks old today.

Just sneaked a peak at your babies and they are beautiful (and the grandbaby too, lol). Your Addie looks like what I think Bronny would look if she wasn't going to be a red-headed tri. She has a black head now but it's lightening out all the time and the breeder said she'd be a red-head. The rest of her coloring is just like Addie tho!

Hugs, Di

Thank you CorgiMama, yes, first I didn't understand well what to do, but now, I like very much this system: to participate in a big forum discussion is too difficult for me, too many things I don't understand, but like this, 2 by 2 is nice, other persons can see, so, they can write if they want, and I'm so happy to communicate with so many people who like Corgis !
(and it's good for my English too !)
