Some of the more notable biologists and researchers are David Mech (probably the most known), David Paul Stiles, Alexandra Semyonova, Ray & Lorna Coppinger, Peter Neville, Morgan Spector, John Paul Scott, John Fuller and Beth Duman. As for dominance behavior I think the word gets thrown around too much, and many things that aren't dominance behavior are labeled as such. Dominance displays are uncommon among wolves and are usually shown durring feedings and mating. Dogs can't think in terms of rank. Here's some links
