About Me:
My husband and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary July 23rd! I always wanted a small dog that didnt shed! Well corgis are not small dogs but small enough for me and they do shed! The shedding is so worth it now. Corgis are too cute.

Funniest Home Videos Channel 7 ABC 7:00 August 6th

There was a video of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi on America's Funniest Home Videos. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was out in the woods chasing its shadow in the mirror! I wasnt watching it, I just happened to come in from being at the store and saw it on! Very Cool! Did anyone happen to see it on?

Doorbell Training

I was just wondering what the best method to training our dog not to go so crazy when the doorbell rings. He gets so excited and wants to see whos there and also wants to know who they are! He barks like crazy and will jump on people to greet them. We always tell him down, no jump. It's like a broken record everytime we have company over. I am trying to change that but need some advice. I finally just started putting him in the kitchen with the gate up so he cant get to the door and that way he… Continue

Why do some dogs not chew their dog food?

I always wondered why some dogs dont chew their dog food. Just wondering if anyone has any explanation for this. Does anyone have a dog that doesnt chew their food! It just seems like it would be better for them to chew it, or does it not matter. Is it because the kibble is so small they feel no need to chew it? I find it interesting that our dog loves to chew toys but not his food!

How does your corgi react to fireworks all week long....leading up to the 4th?

I have noticed latelty that Lance is very barky......and also seems like he is on edge a bit. When he barked I would go to look out the front window and couldnt see anyone. This happened several times. Finally I have come to the conclusion that he must be hearing fireworks that we can not hear! The 4th of July is only a few days away. They have never really seemed to bother him much before, do fireworks bother them as they get older more? I know alot of dogs will go and hide but it seems like La… Continue

I'm not listening.....I want to play with that doggie across the street!

Lance gets very excited when he sees a neighbor dog or any dog walking and wants to go play. It is to the point that he looses his concentration and doesnt hear a word I am saying. Does anyone have any help on how to make him concentrate on me and not the other dogs he sees. He is on a leash and still cannot hear me talking. What are your experiences with this and what did you do to help the situation. Luckily this time I was standing in front of my house so I just took him back inside.

i really hope it was the kitty food. i feed the cats up on the kitchen table but she's learning to jump up and by hitting the table she can sometimes knock the bowls down. (it's not a very sturdy table) and she got practically a whole serving last night! by the time i discovered she was eating it, it was pretty much gone. her vomit looked as if it was from that, so i'm just hoping when i get home there isn't more for me. she and i also spent some time with jake last night. he was acting very loving...so maybe he's coming around. i dunno. i'm trying to play a little hard to get...don't want to be at his "beckoned call"...but i miss him so much. i hope he comes home soon and we can move forward and not have this happen again. my emotions can't handle it!!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We are still grieving and are taking it one day at a time.

Hi Natalie,
Spencer is doing fine now.....no more ear problems. He is challenging me on his food right now....he will walk over to the bowl, look at the food and then look at me as if to say,"you expect me to eat THIS AGAIN?".....Oh they can be so stubborn sometimes!

Hows Lance?

No problem. Depends on how adapted you are to cold weather. Since I moved to Florida from Tennessee and am so used to cold winters, I'm usually still swimming well into November and even December. It typically still gets into at least the 70's if not 80's each day with lows around 60 degrees in the evenings through October. October is really a good time to come, typically. It is warm out but not unbearable like over the summer.

A friend of mine did the wood burning of Henry as a thank-you. It's the best gift I've had in years!

Not so much his ears more his feet and bottom. He did rub his face a lot. I don't recall ears and with these things you'd notice. OH Yeah, the other dog had the itchy ears...
