About My Corgi(s):
Cobi was 11 in June 2008. He has been such a joy to have as part of our family. He has been on medication for epilepsy for about 8 years and just recently this fall he has been diagnosed with Disk Disease.

Back, Disc Problems

I think Cobi is now beginning to think that this getting old thing just absolutely sucks lately. Cobi was 11 years old in June and he has been such a trooper his whole life dealing with epilepsy & all the meds that go with that, but now he seems to be showing the signs of degenerative disc disease. First it started with us noticing that he was slightly dragging his left rear leg occasionally and now as of Sunday he is really struggling to the point where we need to help him at times. He will… Continue

OMG I am so sorry to hear that, after you just told me he has epilepsy, It does suck getting old for sure!
so if you dont mind me asking, when he first started his seizures, did he have 3,4,5 at a time, and was it like once a month, on the sam day or anything like that, cause Bebe has his once a month,every 29 days, its very strange! and I thought he was gonna die at one point, he had 5 in a row 2 months ago and they lasted 4 mins each, it was Horrible, I was Just curious about cobi, cause bebe is on bromide and pheno too, How many MG is cobi on? sorry for all the questions, its Just so new to me and very scary as well! Thank you for your time, your Baby is GORGEOUS!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks! Cobi is looks so happy. We have a friend with a cardigan corgi that has the wheels he uses to get around, since his back and legs can no longer support him. He really gets around well with it. Tell Cobi to hang in there, if he is anything like Ruby he probably has a lot of energy in him.

<-Merlin's 8 1/2 years old and every once in awhile he will come up limping after playing ball. He's an avid ball player too so he can understand Cobi being upset when he wants to play a little ball and mom and dad say "no" and seem to be big meanies. Maybe you can change around Cobi's ball playing a bit and roll it toward him so he can lay there and still "catch" it...

I saw your profile and wanted to say hello! I've seen a few item here and there about the wheels for those with disabilities. I hope your Corgi does well with his newfound capability. Has he been adapting? How have you been working with him to get him to understand the new conditions? Best of luck to you and Cobi!!

The picture of your puppy in the flowers and plants is super adorable. Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. It's kind of like being the new girl in school.....

Hey Gail, I only have Furby on the pheno as of now but he has had 2 seizers in the past 3 months so Dr Ringler tells us if it gets to where they continue we also will be adding the potasium bromide. So sorry your very handsom boy has to go through this. keep in touch Jenny

Gail, go to the site above and order the kit to test for DM. Yogi had the surgeries because of bulging disks according to two MRIs and one Myelogram. We had hoped that was the problem for the dragging legs but it wasn't. The tests came back stating he was at risk for the disease but we know he has it. Keep me posted, Virginia

You are lucky to be having such nice weather unlike Ohio, last night we got snow and about an inch on the ground w/more coming. So here is something for you. LOL
