Lolaaaaaaaa! To the rescue!

As some of you know my boyfriend recently got a puppy from his friend whose family didn't want it anymore. We took the little guy to the vet to make sure everything was alright and they called me today saying that they found the parasite Giardia in his stool. He said I had nothing to really worry about but I need to go tomorrow and pick up medication. I was wondering if this easily passes on to other dogs, because I'm worried about my baby Lola. First off sorry this is so late, she has been better for a few days now, but I haven't had time to get to the computer. I was woken up today from Lola shaking the bed scratching herself. She was biting her paws like crazy, and she can't stop scratching her front legs. When she bites her front feet her back legs kick at the same time too. It was cute but I felt horrible for her because she was so itchy. I haven't changed her food and she is on flea medication, so I don't think she has bugs. Figures the only time that I ever need them, they're closed. They were closed on the Saturday my cat's lung collapsed, and today, on a MONDAY, they're closed?!
