Profile Information

Hometown:
Born in California, but now live in Oklahoma.
About Me:
Native of California. Been in Oklahoma off and on for almost 30 years and now it's home. I'm a volunteer rescue transport for dogs scheduled for euthanasia, a part-time activity in my busy life but with very high priority. Corgis are my main focus and passion on the rescues, but no dog is too small, too big, or unimportant for me to transport to a loving, forever home!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Four sable Pembrokes. Ladygirl is living inside my heart now. Topaz was adopted/rescued October 2007. Topaz and Ladygirl are/were best buddies and partners in crime! Both are sables, loyal, loving, faithful, and trusting through and through! Couldn't ask for better!

Frankie was adopted/rescued February 7, 2009, and Ladybug was adopted/rescued February 21, 2009.
I have:

DOOOOLEY!!!!!!!!!! HE'S HERE!

Oh, my gosh -- you all can't believe how I feel right now -- a sudden wave of mixed emotions has taken my breath away to find Dooley on here! I'm crying and really don't have much to say because the words are hard to come by -- I will talk with everyone later.

Goodbye, Dooley -- Part 2

After reading all the kinds words, I feel it is necessary to clarify my anger -- I was crying when I wrote the first part, and probably left out details and confused a lot of readers.

First of all, there is not one person on this site that I am angry with. All of you, beginning with Sam Tsang and his wife, stepped up to the plate to help me get this dog to safety. It is the people behind the scenes I'm angry with -- including myself.

Second of all, Dooley is not yet with his new owners -- ther… Continue

Goodbye, Dooley -- I will always love and remember you!

On Saturday, October 31st, (Halloween) Dooley was taken to Texas to be adopted. I didn't pre-post or discuss this ahead of time, as I didn't want to vacillate and question myself in self torment. Now, that I'm home, slept for a few hours after a long road trip, am drinking coffee while Topaz and Frankie are outside enjoying the beautiful weather and sunshine, I'm actually tormented anyway.

After 2 1/2 months of fostering Dooley, awaiting placement, getting excited because a space became availab… Continue

Dooley -- 30 Days Are Up!

Today is the 30th day for fostering Dooley and I feel a heavy weight on my chest. I hadn't heard anything from the rescue group in Wichita, Kansas, since the 22nd of August -- until 3 days ago. Actually, by that time I was hoping they had forgotten all about Dooley!

I also heard from another rescue/adoption group in Texas inquiring about both Frankie and Dooley on the same day.

My heart sank, I went into a deep fog, and couldn't -- and still can't -- catch my breath -- WHAT?! I thought to myse… Continue

D-Con Mice/Rat Poison Pellets -- Do You Know What to Do?

My loveable Topaz loves to chase rabbits, squirrels, cats, lizards, frogs, virtually anything that moves fast on the ground.

Friday morning when she caught a mouse on first snap I was so proud of her! -- Until I realized she wasn't going to present me with her "gift." Instead she was savoring it for herself, taking it out to the backyard to finish off.

Then it hit me -- I've got mice/rat pellet poison down in the house and this mouse could have ingested it.

Immediately I managed to convince T… Continue

Hi Deanna,
Glad you got your computer fixed...I hate being without one! Yes, there is next weekend or I even offered to go with and drive today...but then I realized the woman is probably feeling really lousy about now! So I guess I have to be patient! That's hard when it comes to rescues BUT probably because I had my heart set on it...a good lesson for me! Hope you are having a good weekend!

aww that really sucks. I guess someone up there has other plans for you and another very special dog out there. Hang in there... it's so funny when I read your part about feeling bad not spending more time looking out for Dooley's original owners. I was desperately looking for Gizmo's owners when I first got him because he was too much to to handle. Of course I couldn't find them, I think because they didn't want to be found, because they had enough of their psycho dog. Thanks goodness I didn't find them (considering I was being so selfish)!! Anyway I hope you won't so hard on yourself, you do too much already!

HI Deanna! I thought so..not a common name and he looks like in your pics. IT looks like Dooley is with a great family and will be (is ) a happy little fellow. God bless you for the heart and soul you put into saving these little angels.
