About Me:: Ginny's been with me now since the middle of January 2008. I also have two kitties, Minerva and Weasleby, who aren't quite so in love with Ginny.... yet. I work in the maritime shipping industry, handling logistics for key accounts at the company. I love music and traveling and spending time with good friends and family.

About My Corgi(s):: I can't believe Ginny's been with me almost a year now! She's grown really fast and is finally making the transition from crazy hyper puppy to a bit more mellow adult dog. She's very smart and independent, but she's ever the social butterfly, and loves saying hi and kissing everyone she encounters.

Ginny loves the snow! She likes rolling in it and making "corgi angels" and scooting her nose through it. She can't get enough of it. But she equally hates her winter coat. I don't make her wear it very much, but in subzero temps, I insist on it. She sees the coat coming out and runs away. Then she looks so depressed.... that's life being a Colorado corgi with a silly overprotective mom!

Her favorite outings include going to the outdoor mall, going down slides at the park, going to the dog park, snuggling at night, playing with her BFF Josie the golden retriever, giving her grandma and grandpa wet willy ear kisses, getting petted by KIDS (oh boy!) and riding in the car.. Her least favorite activies are bathtime, wearing any sort of dog clothes, vaccuum time and having to get her nails clipped.

Ginny at the Apple Orchard!

Fall is in the air, so yesterday we took at trek down to an apple farm down in southern Colorado. We went to get ourselves plenty of fresh apples, pumpkins, berries, apple cider, etc. It's a pick-it-yourself-farm, and there were lots of little kids out gathering whatever apples they could. But there was also one very happy corgi! She got to ride on the tractor, which sitting in the lap of one of a little girl who was just doting on her. Ginny, the travel corgi

Ginny and I are on a ROAD TRIP this week! This is the furthest she's been from home since I've had her. We got her all set up in the backseat in her big pet gear travel kennel. Day one, we drove from south Denver to Lincoln, about 8 hours. She did great! Slept most of the way and we just made a few extra pit stops for her to take potty breaks, get water, and stretch. Ginny had a seizure (I think) today

This morning as I was getting ready for church, I came into the family room and saw Ginny laying on the floor and twitching. I walked over to her and saw that she was just trembling all over. Still holding her head up and looking at me, but she was just sort of trembling all over. I picked her up and moved her over to her doggy bed to try to make her more comfortable and sat next to her just petting her and reassuring her. Nervous Ginny might get sick

Last night, my sister's dog, Charlotte, got really sick. She started vomiting blood and having bloody stools and acting very lethargic and "out of it" during the night. She took her to the emergency vet and they assessed her and she was dehydrated and had some sort of gastroenteritis. They wanted to admit her, but it was going to cost $1200, and frankly, my sister doesn't have that kind of money. So they told her how to treat her at home and gave her medicine.
