I think that expression is definitely saying, "That cake was good." She look so pretty in her bandanna and handkerchief!

I am so sorry for your loss. RIP, big guy. He was a very handsome boy.

I am certainly of a mind that having a whole litter of pups and puting the mother in danger for ONE puppy is short-sighted. I think your thought process is sound. Oh, and if you get her spayed, Bella with always have tiny, little boobies that will...

Oh...I am so sorry! RIP Hoover...you look like such a great dog and I bet you were a great big brother!

What awful news. I was just thinking this morning that it might be a less than a good thing how much I love Twinkie (and I'm sure how much you love Toby) because to lose her would be so very painful. We will keep sweet Toby in our bedtime prayers.

Corgi Cousins!

My human family and I went to our hometown of Junction City, Kansas last week. While there we got to spend time with two of Twinkie's relatives at my mom's house. Barbie and Tater both come from the same breeder in Wamego, Kansas were we got Twinkie. (You can see their pictures on our page.) They were our inspiration to get our own corgi and we had such a good time getting to know them better. Tater is a lot like Twinkie with lots of energy and not much time for hugs. Barbie, on the other hand,… Continue

Danger On The Deck

I have been loving to read the posts by all of the members about their new puppies. I have been remembering the fun we had last year when we brought Twinkie home. I also remembered how we just avoided disaster when she fell from over 7 feet from our deck just a few days after her homecoming! Our deck is probably similar to most with the stairs being open at the back and of course the spaced railing at the top. Twinkie had ran up the stairs to catch her big sister who decided to stop and have a s… Continue

Scene of the crime

This morning my husband came in to our room and said, "I don't even know how to describe what happend in the playroom." What happened was one dog (of our three) had a terrible gastrointestinal episode in there overnight. Let's just say, it looked like someone dropped a whole lot of poop out of a plane into our playroom and then someone else had a fight with it! It was everywhere. On pillows, on gaming controllers, game cases and even on the front of the big, 42" projection TV the kids play Wii o… Continue

What to do with Twinkie

Ah, Twinkie is so lucky she's so cute. She was busted yesterday eating the leaves off my strawberry plants. I can only assume she is also the culprit in the case of the missing strawberries. She is also digging through the patio pots for rocks and has started a nice collection. I can put them back and she gets them back out and starts a little pile right in front of herself. This is a dog that needs a hobby...a different hobby.

Cindi, I freeze half of it in a plastic container use the other in the first week. With Twinkie you could use chicken breats-less fat the SP and beans. I use Blue Buffalo dry food from either Petsmart or Petco it is more expensive but it's worth it. It was never recalled because they are seperate from the other dog foods. They never change their ingredients check them out they have a good weight control food. Another great resource I use for my horses and Cosmo is Smartpak they portion the food and you get a 20 day supply of quality dog food same price as a bag. Smartpak canine or Smartpak.com. Let me know if have any questions Twinkie is beautiful! Jo

Hey there! I was reading two different stories about grossly overweight corgis on Golden Gate Corgi website. When I adopted Ein, he was so big he couldn't even walk! I wish I would've taken a picture, he ended up with a breakfast - dinner diet. 1/2 cup dry kibble, 2 tablespoons canned, and 1/2 cup green beans. sometimes we would just skip the beans at meal time, and he would get them as extra special snacks! He thought he was getting something extra wonderful! He was an over-sized pembroke, so he never broke 40 pounds. He was, however, half his original weight when he passed. Twinkie is very small, she is 20 lbs. and Lilly is a 30 lb Cardigan. I am glad to finally get back on this website! I do miss chatting with everyone! :)

Hi! Twinkie is super cute! I can't get enough of her fluffiness! If I met her in person I would squeeze the heck out of her! You are so lucky to have a fluff.

Saturday and then we can take her out. Yippee! We have class tonight. I think she is very smart. She tries to get by with as much as she can. :) We're having a blast with her. It would be fun to see her around other Corgis.

Do you ever take Twinkie swimming? We bought a baby pool that we could also get into. It was the funniest thing. She isn't always so brave.

She likes to talk a lot and is beginning to herd us. Those silly Corgis!

I hope you are staying cool. I'm working at home today and Gracie, believe or not, is laying by my feet. Such a rare occasion!

Also, how old was Twinkie when you got her spayed? Does she get along well with your other dogs? We're planning to get us another Corgi male in about a year or so. I'm sure Gracie will boss him around! :)
